SEA AND BE SEEN

That buzz emanating from Liberty Landing Marina isn’t the engine of a power boat; it’s the scene at Maritime Parc.

Located on the perimeter of the Marina, Maritime Parc, the restaurant, is a sleek, modern answer to the coastal fish house, where a friendly, accessible vibe, fine food, and fond memories are always on tap.

Executive Chef/Owner Chris Siversen’s menu takes the best local, organic, and sustainable ingredients and spins them into refreshingly accessible cuisine fashioned with a personal touch and bold flavors. Appetizers include Chilled Pea Soup with Parmesan Flan and Crisp Bacon and Cast-Iron Roasted Mussels with Fennel, Tomato, and Chorizo Jus. Main courses include Pink Snapper with Lemon, Pickled Onion, and Basil Relish; Roasted Chicken with Mushroom Stuffing and Chicken Liver Crouton; and Braised Short Ribs with Buttered Leeks and Horseradish Cream.

While Chef Siversen takes great pride in his craft, he also recognizes that some of the most iconic offerings of a seaside restaurant happen to be the simplest. And so, befitting the setting, Maritime Parc also offers a raw bar brimming with pristine local shellfish, available by the piece or in petite and grand platters, as well as a whole roasted fish. They are not “show off” dishes, but Siversen and his team source and present them with the same care they devote to the kitchen’s signature items.

Architect Stephanie Goto and her Goto Design associates have fashioned a stunning home for Siversen’s cuisine: In the dining room, a combination of banquette seating and “floating” (freestanding) tables create the energy of a modern destination restaurant, while counter seating and a grand Chef’s Table offer magnificent views of both Siversen and his team and of the Hudson River and lower Manhattan. Flourishes such as ceruse wood rope panel molding and silver cleats paired to create a reflecting effect round out the nautical theme.

A trio of French doors lead from the dining room to the split-level stone patio outside, where seating for 100 awaits, offering a unique “seaside lounge” feel with its own dedicated bar, a 30-foot cushioned bench, and a bar menu featuring such dishes as Local Oysters, Fish and Chips with a Caper-Egg Dip, The MP Bar Burger with “Special Sauce,” and addictively delicious Duck Fat Fries.

Conceived and designed to both celebrate and serve its magnificent setting in the Liberty Landing Marina, Maritime Parc also offers “vessel service,” its own localized version of room service, inviting boaters to pick up or have food delivered directly to them on board.
